I've shot Shakespeare!
We made this for the SonnetProjectNYC.org. A short film for every one of Shakespeare’s Sonnet’s. The way the program works is that you select a Sonnet and then you're given a location to utilize in your film. We were assigned the John T. Brush Stairway up in Harlem. The challenge was creating a romantic narrative with a "utilitarian" set of stairs.
We had the easy to photograph talents of Billy Magnusson and MacKenzie Mauzy on screen. Mark Karafin guided our ship as director. I was cinematographer on this project - a first time wearing the DP hat. Maxx Reed, Jesse Rosenberg, and Russell Uddin, lent their great talents behind camera. Rubin Kodheli composed us a beautiful score, Joshua Kobak mixed our sound, Alan Gordon colored us beautifully - I love our team.
We've made something we are immensely proud of. Enjoy.
